195!!!!!!

I'm just thrilled! And tired. No other symptoms yet. I'm bruised beyond belief from the lovenox. A few people have suggested arnica. I'm not a big believer in topicals, I think they mostly have placebo effects, but the bruising is BAD! I have a bruise just from the tape used after my blood draw this morning! What do you think, internets?

Thank you all for your love and continued support!

Well, better get back to pretending to work!

P.S. Go buy a hat!

I have been following your story as a lurker for a couple months now. I just wanted to delurk and tell you how happy I am for you. The story of you and how you came to this place is really inspiring. Hope you continue to feel well!

Lurkers! Please say hello.

woohoo! Great Beta.

I've used arnica both internal and external and it seems to help. Ice is another possible back up.

Great number! Let's hope it keeps a-rising :)

I don't have any answers. I think bruising may be inevitable with Lovenox though, since it's a blood thinner. But there has to be something to reduce it... good luck hun.

Dora,

I just wanted to say while jumping up and down for you................

WOOHOO for that Beta....may it just keep on rising!!!

Yea!!!

I haven't had computer access for a couple of days and I came here as soon as I could to see what was up. I'm so happy for you!

Also, that beta number is just about perfect inasmuch as just wanting one baby goes. I know it is too soon to tell, but my first beta was something like 8000 and it scared the crap outta me! Thankfully it was only twins!

Anyway, I'm praying that things hang on and keep rising. Sorry about the bruising. Wish I knew what could help.

Also, so sorry to have missed you in T.O. The A was a barfy mess for a couple of days, but is better now. I'm sure there will be lots of visits to TO for you and AngryCamm and hope I can try to hook up again soon.

YEEAAAAHHHHHH!!! So happy for you, what a great beta!!! You're gonna be a mommy, woooohooooo!!

Do you have a clotting disorder, is that why you are on Lovenox? I'm just asking because my RE said I'll also be on Lovenox for the first tri. (providing I get PG) even though I don't have a clotting disorder. Because of my POF, they assume I have some underlying immune issue and want me on Lovenox just in case. I just wondered what the rationale with you being on it was?

AKKKKK!!!!!! That's a great number!!!!! Congrats, ms. dora. you deserve it.

as for the bruising. i'm not a big homeopathic person (too much science training perhaps), but how about good ole fashioned pressure and as much ice as you can stand?

Oh Yeah Baby...literally!

And thanks for the sweet familial pronoun in your last email. It's been a long time since I've heard it and felt great!

Thanks, everyone!

Andrea, I have a single MTHFR mutation, which is not generally thought to cause clotting issues, but I'm using the lovenox as a precaution. It's nasty stuff. I hope I don't have to use it throughout the whole pregnancy, but if I do, I'm not above guilting the kid about it when he/she is being bratty! ;-)

Cara, the kid will likely roll his/her eyes about the abundance of Aunties. Too bad!

Yee-haw!

I'd suggest asking for a different kind of tape at the next blood draw (or just hold it with your finger for a minute instead of taping the cotton down).

Great number! Congratulations!

And yes, Lovenox is notorious for bruising. I don't know what can help - I hope others give you good advice!

Wow! Fantastic. I'm so happy for you. No idea what Arnica is. I know that the lovenox will cause bruising. Hope it's not too bad. Hoping for fantastically doubling numbers for that beta.

thats just awesome mate!!! :) oh I hear you on the bruising, except I'm on clexane. Aren't they just evil? I find nothing helps but closing your eyes and imagining a sweet cooing (or screaming, whatever works) baby at the end of it all and I manage to get through each day's shot. Lots of bandaids help too, I've wrecked many a skirt with the "sudden" stomach bleed. I also take pictures of the bruising (hehe as you'll see on one of my posts) so I can guilt trip my babies when they're growing up and give me a hard time... yeah, I'm only half kidding ;)

This is awesome!! look after yourself... xx

OMG! I have (of course) been a little late to catch up on the news. I am soooooo happy for you! I am almost in tears for you and I have never met you! Thank you for your words of support on my old and new blogs and I am sending you amazing thoughts and prayers out into the universe for this pregnancy to stick stick stick.

Congrats on the AWESOME beta!!! I am so happy for you.

On the Lovenox. I used it for 9 months and rarely bruised badly. Maybe b/c I was on just a prophylactic dose (30 IU/day), but I think the secret was pinching the skin up that I was about to inject into. Sorry if that comes across as assvice.

When I was on PIO I found the secret to not bruising was heating, not cooling, the area with a heating pad first and again right after. I don't know if that would work with subq injects, though.

Kristin said...

What dosage do they have you on? I bruised easily while on lovenox but not as easily as you are. Great beta!

Shinejil said...

Great! Here's to a double dose of that in a day or so!

Hugs to you and your little one.

Yay, that's a great number! Comfortably high, but not too high to be scary. How long until the U/S?

Arnica as a topical is more than a placebo, I think but I have never used blood thinners so I don't know if it would work in that case. Ice is supposed to help, too.

That is a HUGE beta!! You could be housing more than one in there! I'm so excited for you - and me too; hopefully we will have months of boring pregnancy complaints to compare.

Good luck - hope that number skyrockets!
