Foot update and questions

Well, it looks like it's just tendonitis. But still, it hurts!!

I called my podiatrist first thing yesterday morning and said it was an emergency. The receptionist told me there was an opening on Friday! WTF?? What part of emergency don't you understand? After some back and forth without a resolution, I told her they'd lost a patient.

Wound up at a walk-in clinic. I waited almost 3 hours to be seen, only to be told it was just tendonitis. The dr said that because of the location of the pain (on the side, towards the top of the foot), the only way to fracture a bone there would be to drop something on it. Which is not what happened.

I have an acupuncture appt after work today for some implantation needling. I'll have her work on the foot as well.

Got a referral for a new podiatrist. I will see him tomorrow, just to confirm the diagnosis.

My questions:

1. How soon after a 3 day transfer can I POAS? I was thinking 7, which would be next Sunday.

2. What's your favorite brand of pee stick? I have 2 at home. A Wa1greens generic ept and a 1st resp0nse. 2 isn't enough!

Thank you all for the good wishes and support!

I think the earliest you could test would be 7dp3dt, that would be "5 days before you get your period" that they advertise on the early testing products. But, what do I know. I did see something 8dp3dt. I used CV*S "compare to 1st Resp0nse"

You mentioned that you saw someone about your foot, but do you have any pain relief? Good luck on your implantation acupuncture!! :)

I would agree that Sunday would probably be the earliest you could test. {{{Hugs}}} and prayers

Good to hear that it is not a fracture. Hope the accupanturist can help with the pain.

Hi there,
Here from ICLW. Sorry to hear about the tendonitis. That sounds quite painful.

As far as when to POAS, I am no help there. I've peed on three sticks in the 12 hours since my trigger shot. Yes, I am sick in the head, but it's my first ovidrel shot, and I wanted to see those two lines for the first time ever, even if it's false.

First Response Early Result is my brand of choice, based on this study: http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/515242_6

I also have some internet cheapies that I'll use just for the hell of it sometimes, but if I'm testing early, I use FRER.
Good luck!

birdsandsquirrles - having the ovidrel shot, I too (almost) bought a pee stick, just to be able to see those two lines. LOL.
But in the end decided not to, because if it would be a negative (O.K, I didn't think of testing as early as you!) when it should be a positive (false, but still positive), well.. I prefered not.

I hope the foot feels better fast!

Yeah, Sunday sounds good to me. I always buy the cheap sticks because I used so many.

I had internet cheapies, they're usually just as or more sensitive than the store ones, but simply without the frills.

I'm a no frills kinda lady, anyway.

FWIW, I just poased every day because I was using HCG boosters- and watched the line start to get darker again on it's own at 8DPO.

I'm with Birdsandsquirrels... I think I POAS from transfer to actual beta day. It was kind of wild to watch the Ovridel shot HCG leave your system, show negative Pee sticks for a few days and then the excitement when the REAL postitive came up was awesome!!!

What can I say, I'm a POAS junky.

Oh, and I liked the higher end digital ones.

Oh, Aunt Kathy! You're so funny!

I'll admit, I was tempted to POAS after the trigger. But they're too expensive. Where do you guys get these internet cheapies? I've heard of Do11ar Tree cheapies, but they're not in my area.

My favorite was ClearBlue Digital because it had a nice clear "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant" but they are one of the more expensive. I usually waited until a couple days before the beta test but I know some people who started way before that.

I believe you're right 7dp3dt would be EARLIEST (and couldn't be counted on). For sanity's sake, you might consider waiting a couple of days after that. I've liked First Response - very sensitive.

have you ever checked out http://www.peeonastick.com/

If not, enjoy : )

I have my fingers crossed for you.

I'd agree that Sunday's the earliest, but I'd hesitate to go that soon on a 3DT - I'd give it another day or two.

As for pee sticks, I just buy the dollar store kind for now.

I'm glad you found out what's wrong with your foot. Knowing is half the battle. I like the pregnancy tests that read out "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant". There is something about that definite reading that's reassuring either way.

I always use First Response Early. I'm eager to try their new version that says "Pregnant/Not Pregnant."

Good luck with the foot and the 2WW!

Take care of your foot. Does a warm press help?

I think seven days would be a good time to take the test. All the best!

And if at first it does not go into parallel line...wait for some time!

Dora, I just wanted to throw in my two cents about the foot issue. I had INTENSE foot pain a few years ago...in the ball of my foot by the big toe. I went to a couple of podiatrists, and they all gave me cortisone shots. This helped in the short term, but the pain kept coming back. I eventually decided to stop the insanity and to see an orthopedist....he made me have an MRI and it showed a broken bone...and no, I never dropped anything on my foot. He then treated it and it's fine now (knock on wood). So, my advice is to see a better doctor if you can. Turns out that the podiatrists' cortisone shots were weakening my bones in the foot...maybe that's what caused the fracture? email me if you want a recommendation for the MD I saw. Hope you feel better soon!

I started testing 8 days past my 3 day transfer and was shocked to already have a faint line (esp. since there is no trigger for FET)
My hands down MOST favorite test is the Equate test from Walmart. Some of the blue dye tests have been known to give false + so I stayed away from those. The equate was really good for those early squint tests.
SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!

p.s. hope your foot continues to heal

I'd say at least 7dp3dt although 8dp3dt would probably be better. For my first IVF I had a faint positive on 8dp3dt. Favorite hpt is 1st response early response (FRER). Good luck.
